Booked tickets for Carnival, so I'll see everyone there. For the record, I want to go to Mad Mex at least once.|
Anne of Green Gables closed this weekend. It looks like I have a good chance of LDing West Side Story when it goes up in September, but we'll see more as we get closer. (Thankfully, the limitations on the set are such that "persepctive brick" won't enter anyone's thinking, I hope...). This will be the 4th time I've done West Side, and the second as LD (though the last time I LDd it it was for a pretty limited thrust production in the outdoor park of my hometown, so it was pretty limited but still looked reasonably good).... I hopefully also might be able to do a smaller show during the summer sometime with a different group, but that is much more up in the air.
The rest of the next season is pretty good too, including Forever Plaid (haven't heard of this one), The Wiz (the Junior show), and Into The Woods. I'm quite happy with that lineup so it should be a good time.
Also went flying on Saturday. I had been planning to do a solo cross country (read "50 miles or more between landings"), but the odd snow/thunderstorm mix we were having prevented that. I did get to go up for a little while though and practice some soft field takeoffs (an odd special takeoff where the idea is that you take off before you have quite enough speed to maintain flight, but then stay very close to the ground until you've accelerated up to a reasonable speed), and crosswind landings. Sadly, none of the landings were that great, but it was a decently strong crosswind so the practice was useful anyway.
