Went flying on Monday, over to Byron (east of Livermore) and then did some touch and goes. It went pretty well, I was doing most of the landings on the last few. (I was with a special guest insturctor since mine was out of town).|
Today I went up with my instructor at PAO. We almost didn't go because of weather, but then it cleared up so out we went to practice some more landings. The wind was a 70 degree crosswind at about 12-14 knots (thats pretty strong for a Cessna 172). My landings were significantly less successful (in the less-than-perfect or needed-some-help way not in the crash-and-burn way), which I think is a good thing since it let me practice going around a few times.
Though, hopefully there will be more practice in calmer winds before I try excessive crosswind again.
While I was out there though I got to hear the PAO controller yell at some guy who broke into his airspace without asking, which was somewhat amusing.
