Trying to cancel my xbox live account. You can't do it from the xbox.com web interface-- and despite what the website tells you, you can't do it from the console either.|
So you call 1-800-4MY-XBOX, and go through like 5 layers of menus, until you find the "Cancel Me" option. This connects you to a person.
You hand over your name/address/etc and then they'll cancel your account. But they will only cancel it immediately, they won't cancel it at the end of your current renewal period. Oh, and they don't prorate it of course.
So this is fine, since my xbox has an old (reported lost) credit card number, so it should just fail to renew when it tries to. But apparently at this point they don't try to get in touch with you, instead they wait 2 months, and then put you into collections.
The representativce you talk to is really nice and cheerful as she tells you how much she thinks this policy sucks too.
Isn't that nice of them?
