So my office building was being shelled today. By mortars. Really. Of course, they were *fireworks* but it sounds exciting, right?|
It turns out that the next week is roughly a week-long continuous fourth of july type event. Except instead of mortars, they generally prefer to use lots and lots and lots of black cats/cherry bombs/m80s. Basicly, small ground fireworks that make loud noises. And there's a lot of them. Sometimes people even hold them in their hand until the last possible second. I haven't seen anyone blow their hand off yet though.
Next week I'm also taking the oppurtunity to go to Agra (where the Taj Mahal is), Dehli, and Jaipur (the "Pink City") with a few of the expats. Should be an excellent time. Then I'm home on the afternoon of the fifth. In many (but not all) ways, 6 weeks went all too fast.
