|Sightseeing in Hyderabad

Went sightseeing in Hyderabad today -- saw some tombs (think "mini Taj Mahal") and the fort that became the city. It was pretty cool, except for the guy who claimed to work for the tombs and tried to charge us Rs 200 each (about $5 USD) for a 10 minute walk around tour. Not entirely surprising. What was surprising is he didn't put up too much of a fight when we told him to stuff it (we were going to tip him about Rs 100 total anyway).|
When I say "us" I mean myself and a sysadmin (another expat) from Ireland and his wife. They've been truly awesome in getting me set up and taking me around out here.
Went out to a really cool restaurant for dinner -- the place was huge and we were dining outside. The food was really good and the atmosphere was awesome. Fancy dinner for three, including alcohol dessert and coffee? Rs 1100 (or about $28 USD).
I'll try to post pictures of the trip to the tombs tomorrow.
