Home for Christmas [Dec. 26th, 2004|07:53 pm]
Just finishing up Christmas break now, I'll be headed back to the warm coast tomorrow afternoon, provided that the airlines cooperate.

I had a good time thursday hanging out with yaello who I hadn't seen since I was in Atlanta for IETF 55. I also learned that she plays a mean air hockey (need to find a place to play air hockey locally :).

Chirstmas was pretty normal. Spent Christmas Eve with my dad's side of the extended family for dinner and such. Christmas day I got handed a large number of Xbox games and a plane from WildRC. I had originally seen one of these being flown around the lunchroom just before one the weekly company-wide meetings. Its a cool model that can take quite a beating. In any case, I've wanted an R/C plane for a long while and can finally fool around with one that isn't likely to destroy itself on the first flight :)

Today I went into the city and visited the MoMA with Carla. Also went out to dinner at a Thai place. (I had decided I needed to give Thai a second chance -- it was ok, but I think I'll keep it ranked with Sushi insofar as I want to go out of my way to eat it). Also took subways all over the city until we found a place to have desert (the first place we tried was closed), and I got to see her Shoebox, er, Apartment.

Thats all for now :)

Sunnyvale Golfland at the corner of Fair Oaks and El Camino has air hockey.

Mmmm, WildRC. Want.

Which model did you get? I'd love to see picture of the assembly process.

Trainer IFO. But I got it pre-assembled (yeah, ok, sorta lame) but I'd never get around to fully assembling it myself.

Also, getting it fully assembled means I get a better idea how all the parts go together (since its sorta confusing to figure out all the necessary pieces from a cold start for most of the models looking at a web site) for when I want to get another one and build it myself.

Before then, though, I'll be converting it to an elevon flyer (which probably requires a different Tx than the one I have)
