I'm back in Hyderabad after a 1 day trip down to Bangalore to do a slew of interviews (since arriving in India, I've done 9 interviews).
I didn't like Bangalore as much as I like Hyderabad. I think its dealing with explosive growth way more poorly (then again, even as nice as the housing we have is, having to walk over open sewers to get to the office is kind of a turn off).
Last night I went out to dinner with the manager of the Engineering department in Hyderabad -- we ate at a place called Sunny's (roughly across the street from the guest house in Bangalore). What type of food you ask? It was an Italian Chinese restaurant...
The Bangalore office is also much smaller, and doesn't have the same amazing expat setup that the Hyderabad office does.
Also, there is something relatively nice (and, admitedly, strange) about having the 6 people in your apartment's living and dining rooms stop what they're doing, stand up, say hello to you, and ask if you need anything whenever you walk in the door...
