|The Corporate Holiday Party

I just got back from The Company's holiday party.|
It was pretty amusing.
First of all, it was in the Computer History Museum so we got to go on a free tour of the (currently fairly limited) exhibits. Though, its pretty wierd seeing an Apple II refered to as an "artifact". Its a good thing they had a bunch of empty exhibit halls though, since there were about 3000 people there...
Production-wise, the whole place reminded me vaguely of a cruise ship, except for the fact that the alcohol was all free. They put together about 8 different venues with various themes, all about the quality of setup of the ECE winter party at CMU. All in all, I suspect a good deal of coin went into it.
I mostly hung out with people from my group, found out one was from CMU (but there was no overlap, though he did know sk4p and vaguely dariaphoebe [through dementia] among others that I knew....) and talked with him and his wife for a while. Sounds like they know some CMU people out here that I don't, and they have a ski condo at Tahoe :)
