This morning I went down to the DMV. That was fun, and no where near as painful as I was led to expect. I mean, I did lose 2.5 hours of my morning to it, but the sheer volume of people there made it look much worse. I think I spent total waiting time of about a half an hour all told. They really were going fast -- they were calling numbers at a rate of about 6-8 a minute.
See, I caused a lot of problems when I asked for an amateur radio license plate. It took the desk guy who was serving me and about 3 of his managers to figure out what forms I needed to fill out to get one. Atleast they had heard of it :)
As for the license test, I just barely passed on the first try. So now I have to go sign up for the convertables that they issue to all the newcomers to california :)
Spent most of the day sleeping to make up for waking up so early. But this evening I went out to explore a Laser Tag place that Carla pointed out to me. Its about 2 miles from my house, and its pretty good it seems. Since I can make the membership pay for itself in about 6 games, I got one of those too.
I did fairly well in the games but its clear to me that I need to find something (climbing, aerobics, whatever) to replace pushing heavy boxes around campus to keep myself in shape :)
